Owned by a collector who drives and maintains his cars (very dedicated car enthusiast).
This rust free car runs and operates excellently and is In very solid condition.
Engine & Transmission:
The car has had a 230 upgrade in power engine rebuild and put into it.
It runs strong and the manual on the tree 4-speed shits smooth.
It delivers power whenever you want it.
The bottom of the car is very clean.
It has had regular use and has not been sitting for extended periods of time.
This is a great car that has been mechanically restored to great running condition, I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country today.
Body:
All glass is in great shape.
The paint is original and preserved very well.
You can see some patina that has settled in on the paint since it is original and almost 60 years old (see video).
The car is rust free and only has one spot on the front bumper where there was a chip and corrosion has set in (see video).
2016 date codes on tires.
The rear bumper has some dings, and the passenger door and front left fender (see video).
Lenses are in excellent shape, great rubber.
The car is preserved very well.
Interior:
The interior is in good shape.
The owner had the upholstery redone and it is very comfortable.
Doors are excellent.
I took detailed photos to show the underside of each door (see detailed photos).
Wood is presentable.
New seatbelts.
Instruments work as they should, updated radio sounds great and rear antenna goes up a down like it should (see video).
A/C blows cold.
Summary:
This is a wonderful example of a solid Mercedes 220S that has upgraded power.
The car in my opinion is in Driver
condition and the owner has put considerable money and energy to make sure the car preforms as it should.
