The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, implementing financial controls, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth and profitability across our restaurant portfolio.
Responsibilities:
1.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for each restaurant location, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
2.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and manage budgets and forecasts for each restaurant, collaborating with operational teams to align financial goals with business objectives.
3.
Cost Management:
Monitor and analyze costs related to food, labor, and overhead, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
4.
Cash Flow Management:
Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash utilization across restaurant locations.
5.
Financial Analysis:
Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, such as pricing strategies, menu development, and expansion opportunities.
6.
Internal Controls:
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and mitigate financial risks.
7.
Tax Compliance:
Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
8.
Audit Support:
Facilitate audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support to external auditors as needed.
9.
Vendor Management:
Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to optimize terms and pricing, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality of goods and services.
10.
Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the restaurant industry.
Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.
g.
, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
