SETA is a 501(c)3 non-profit public service organization dedicated to renters' rights and interests.
We accomplish our goals by assisting, educating, and empowering tenants in the Lane County.
We believe that housing rights are human rights and that affordable and accessible housing is the foundation of any strong community.
Our organization is a local community leader and trusted service provider in tenant support.
Position Objective:
The Tenant Education Director is primarily responsible for leading and managing the Education Program of SETA.
They must be knowledgeable about landlord-tenant law, be able to use this knowledge to educate others, conduct program goal-setting and measurable reporting, and be the primary contact for our Education program.
The Tenant Education Director reports directly to the Executive Director.
Job Description and Duties:
Oversee Tenant Education Program Schedule, recruit, and run basic tenant education classes on a regular basis Foster positive learning experiences and environments with clients who have high barriers to renting.
Facilitate discussion and collaboration via social media when necessary Collaborate with local service providers and partners to ensure community-wide engagement Develop and present training workshops for community partners on requested topics related to landlord/tenant law.
Manage SETA Renters Rights Guides, ensuring up-to-date accessible information for all renters at various literacy levels.
Rentwell Program Successfully complete Rentwell Instructor Program or provide current certification of completion Cooperate with other Rentwell participants and establish working relationships with community partners Manage and organize both Rentwell and SETA-specific education materials Schedule, recruit, and run Rentwell program on a quarterly basis Issues expert Provide up-to-date information for SETA staff and board members on landlord/tenant law, fair housing law, local resources, and any other relevant topics Work with SETA Hotline staff and volunteers to ensure the Volunteer Handbook is fully up to date with any law or interpretation changes Serve as a point of contact for SETA staff to train incoming staff and/or volunteers Other Job Responsibilities Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Executive Director Preferred Skills:
Experience and proficiency with computerized applications (Google Drive, Google Voice, Gmail, Nation Builder, etc.
) Experience measuring and collecting data and outcomes of events to determine program effectiveness Experience managing and tracking attendance of participants in Education classes Knowledge of Landlord/Tenant law, Fair Housing Law, and any other relevant subjects Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent ability to work as a contributing member of a multidisciplinary team Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work with an often underserved and potentially difficult population Ability to be flexible in responding to changing needs and requirements Ability to work in a self-motivated environment Minimum Qualifications The Tenant Education Director shall have at least two years of experience working in the non-profit field and/or within an educational or leadership role.
Access to a secure telephone and computer is a must.
Preference is given to applicants who are currently renters.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
