Sr. Manager, Master Scheduling

Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for a Sr Manager of Master Scheduling to be based out of one of our PPC facilitiesReporting to the VP of Operations-PPC, this person will be responsible for creating a standard process for all plants to follow in their production planning & schedulingThis role will provide direction, training, and oversight to the scheduling process for the in-house manufacturing of PVC products, which will ensure internal/external customer demands are met.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of related experience with increasing levels of responsibility and a background in inventory management with a BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or Sciences or equivalent experience requiredExperience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is required.
What Youll Do Develop the master production schedule based on actual and forecasted customer demand working in concert with the materials planner.
Escalate inventory related topics to appropriate plant leadership.
Participate actively in the SIOP process including but not limited to rough cut capacity planning.
Standardize the production scheduling process among all plants.
Train production schedulers in the process of creating and updating the production schedule at their plant.
Review and standardize the production scheduling template.
Audit schedules for correct process and inventory quantities.
Monitor when, why and how production schedules get changed mid cycle.
Ensure smooth and efficient workflow between sales, production and warehouse.
Analyze lead times with operations and supply chain to ensure schedule accuracy.
Partner with the Project Management and New Product Development teams to ensure all relevant product launch and development work is scheduled, and necessary adjustments are made, to maximize efficiency and schedule adherence.
Lead weekly cross functional scheduling meeting and publish rolling 8-week capacity schedule.
Utilize daily production compliance reports for managing daily workloads and communicating manufacturing status.
As part of the monthly forecasting process, review work center capacity and provide feedback to operations management, procurement, finance and demand planning.
Function as the key person to ensure schedule adherence using visual manufacturing techniques, Excel, and Access.
Function as key liaison between Operations, Sales, Demand Planning, Procurement and Finance regarding production and schedulingProvide regular reports on adherence to forecast and work with operations and finance to understand the impact of changes.
Manage special projects, continuous improvement activities and perform other duties as assigned.

What youll bring:
The successful candidate will have a BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering or Sciences or equivalent experiencerequired.
A minimum of seven years of related experience with increasing levels of responsibility and a background in inventory management.
Proven knowledge of ERP Systems (transitioning from SAP to JD Edwards) Lean/Kanban Experience preferred.
Able to create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP).
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of principles of production.
Strong computer and mathematical skills; must have at least an intermediate level of knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to effectively prioritize tasks and assign responsibilities accordingly.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Accuracy and thoroughness required with great attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving ability; previous experience in Root Cause Analysis.
Within 3 months, youll:
Complete your Atkore Immersion Program.
Understand how your job will help deliver Atkores strategy.
Complete a plan for process improvements with information gained in first 90 days.
Within 6 months, youll:
Define and implement the Production Planning Process and Tools/Templates across the PPC footprint.
Analyze the production plan to ensure it is accurate for the current business climate.
Improve operational efficiencies to reduce backlog by 10%.
Gain a full understanding of product lines, schedules, customer contract requirements, material requirements, forecast, supplier material coverage, internal factory and external supplier capacity and build plans, supplier delivery schedules, any/all production issues, to ensure a continuous flow of material to meet customer expectations.
Within 12 months, youll:
Outline a long-term plan for world class operational planning.
Populate/participate in facility Lean Transformation Planning related to scheduling improvements.
Fully document new processes and train back-up resources.
