The main responsibility of this position will be to conduct remote intervention training exercises with research participants who are juvenile probation officers (JPOs) in Oregon and Idaho.
The Training Assistants will learn an evidence-based intervention which will be taught to the JPOs that aims to get parents more involved in their youths' cases.
Training Assistant will conduct 20-30min role-play training exercises with JPOs in which the Training Assistant will act the role of a parent working with the JPO.
This position is highly variable and will require more hours (10-12/week) in the first month of the position and then will require reduced hours (0-10/week) over the project's remaining 1-year timeline.
The Training Assistant will also act as a resource and contact person for participants, prepare intervention and training materials, be responsible for tracking intervention training-related information, and perform other research-related responsibilities and other tasks as needed.
This position can be done completely remote, but the Training Assistant must reside in one of the following states:
California, Washington, Oregon, or Texas.

Conducts intervention training exercises with research participants after being trained on the specificities of the intervention exercise.
Follows study protocols carefully and reliably.
Stores and transmits paper and electronic data according to strict confidentiality procedures.
Assists in the preparation and distribution of research collection, intervention, and training materials.
Contacts participants and schedules appointments for training exercises according to study protocols.
Completes work in a timely and efficient manner; meets deadlines and/or communicates any changes in timelines.
Participates in regular check-ins with supervisor and at team meetings.
Develops and maintains good, positive working relations with participants, collaborators, and co-workers.
Meets virtually or in-person with participants for training exercises.
Other project-related tasks as needed.

QualificationsKnowledge, skills, experience, education or training needed to perform job.
Minimum requirement:
High School diploma or equivalent and 1-year relevant training/experience.
Must have excellent verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
Must feel comfortable participating in training exercises such as role-plays with guided scripts, improvising at times.
Must be skilled with the use of computers and other modern office equipment.
Comfortable with common office tasks typing, using excel and word processing, accessing email and sending professional emails, downloading/uploading documents to server locations.
Excellent attention to details.
Comfortable making phone calls, writing professional emails, and holding Zoom video calls.
Preferred Expertise Role-playing, acting, or improv experience.
Experience in training others on tasks.
Experience working in a research setting with human subjects or a clinical setting with clients is preferred.
Experience working with and interviewing professionals.

This position has variable hours requiring 10-15 hours/week the first month of the position and then reducing to 0-12 hours/week on going.
There may be weeks were 0 hours are available for this position.
Must also be available to participate in at least weekly check-ins with supervisor and team meetings.
