Industrial Lab Assistant

This position is responsible for assisting lab supervisor and technicians with daily tasks as needed.
Duties may include data entry, chemical and physical tests on oils and other engine samples, bending/lifting, cleaning and general upkeep of the lab premises.
JOB DUTIES Assist in performing chemical and physical tests on oils and other engine samples as assigned.
Clean computers, countertops, windows, floors, sink glass ware, work areas and dump or fill all fluids and waste oils when needed.
Process samples in a timely manner.
Assist in entering data as directed and keep database files updated.
Use appropriate equipment to assist running the following tests:
Particle count Viscometer Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
Maintain punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
Work overtime as needed and within labor law guidelines.
Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFACTIONS High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Minimum of one year of data entry or machine operating experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General knowledge of automotive or machine engine components and parts strongly preferred.
