Position Highlights We are hiring a Judicial Assistant (Court Operations Associate) at the Lane County Circuit Courtin Eugene, Oregon.
As a Judicial Assistant Much of your day is spent providing clerical support to a judge.
You will maintain the judge's schedule, organize assembled materials, and notify parties by scheduling and coordinate court appearances, meetings, and conferences.
You will also track case status assigned to the judge and gather data or perform limited legal research regarding cases.
Additionally, you will prepare and process a variety of court documents requiring a broad knowledge of court operations and legal terminology/format.
This includes orders, judgments, documents, papers, and pleadings.
You will review for accuracy and input these documents in the court's internal software system.
You will assist attorneys and provide customer service to the public regarding court operations.
In the courtroom, you will manage jurors, call court into session, initiate remote court appearances, operate recording equipment, and mark and monitor exhibits.
You are expected to maintain notes of court proceedings for preparation and distribution of sentencing judgments and orders.
In all your work, you will use established policies and procedures while also ensuring statutory requirements are met.
Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.

Schedules and courtrooms continually change so this position must have the ability to adapt quickly to various changes.
Office area is located directly outside judicial chambers and is often a high traffic and noisy area as attorneys gather to meet with the judges.
Long periods of sitting may be required.
Lifting up to 25 pounds of office material or equipment may be required.
