) is currently hiring a reliable part-time employee for the position of Thrift Store Supervisor/Cat Care Assistant for S.
A.
R.
A.
's Treasures, a non-profit thrift store that raises the funds necessary to operate our life-saving animal rescue program.
Qualified applicants will have open availability, good communication skills, and be motivated, hard-working, and eager to learn.
A valid Drivers' License and working cell phone with voice mail are required for this position.
Retail, animal care, or fundraising experience is a plus.
General duties include working cooperatively and effectively while performing duties necessary to the daily operations of S.

's Treasures Gift & Thrift Shop (including cash handling and customer service), work in a supervisory role with other employees and volunteers of various ages and backgrounds, and care for rescued cats.
Among other things, a qualified supervisor will demonstrate their ability to:
Be courteous and helpful to all donors, customers, volunteers, employees and all other visitors to the shop.
Arrive punctually to work.

's mission, and be able to explain it accurately and with enthusiasm to customers, visitors, and volunteers.
Thoroughly learn and follow S.

's Policies and Procedures and be able to explain them accurately to volunteers and new employees.
Demonstrate creative thinking and ability to make both independent and collaborative decisions.
Work three or more five to eight hour shifts per week and have availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
Be reasonably available to assist with shifts in case of other employees needing sick days, vacations, or emergency situations.
Price donated items efficiently and accurately.
Handle cash, operate a POS system, and do daily balance reports accurately.
Care for our cats with scrupulous attention to:
appropriate feeding, administering medications, proper cleaning of cat areas, following strict guidelines for the cleaning of quarantined areas, and checking for signs of illness.
Help potential adopters while conveying S.

Learn about available local animal resources in order to politely refer inquiries about stray or unwanted animals to the appropriate agencies.
Possess a valid driver's license and a working, reliable telephone with message capabilities.
Physical requirements include:
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, bend and scoop multiple litter boxes daily, stand for extended periods of time, climb 3-6 foot ladders, and being comfortable in the presence of and the handling of cats.
