This is an exciting time to work in the travel and tourism industry in our region, with a full range of sporting events, conventions and strong leisure travel leading to employment growth that is projected to far exceed all other industry sectors.

DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT MANAGER PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Destination Development Manager collaborates with stakeholder groups to develop and enhance tourism products, experiences and events to support community needs for sustainable, year-round economies.
This position provides leadership for development projects, committees and statewide initiatives.
Must be a team player with leadership skills and an exceptional work ethic who is service-oriented, organized, responsible and energetic.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Destination Development Help build destination development strategy and initiatives Facilitate efforts that support tourism networks and action teams Develop training tools and assist in delivery of trainings to provide technical assistance and customer service training to support the needs of stakeholders Product Development Coordination Support existing tourism development projects Guide product and services development to leverage state-wide initiatives Draft grant letters of support, write grants and administer grant projects Leverage large-scale events hosted in the region as opportunities to advance development initiatives and spread economic impact to small businesses and rural communities Other duties as assigned PREFERRED

Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year accredited college or university Ability to work independently and exercise judgement in managing projects and people Experience with developing and maintaining organizational systems Process-oriented, extreme attention to detail, hyper-organized and able to multi-task and manage time Exceptional customer service with a genuine desire to help Passion for and knowledge of Lane County's recreational, culinary and cultural offerings Ability to work easily & professionally with a variety of visitors, coworkers and stakeholders Loyalty to and positive representation of Travel Lane County Clear written and oral communication, including on the phone Proficient with basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet) REQUIREMENTS:
Willing to work on weekends and after-hour events Able to secure an OLCC server's permit Valid Driver's License and clean driving record Able to lift 35 lbs.

This is a full-time salaried Professional Exempt position Benefits include medical and dental insurance for the employee, as well as paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
