The University of Oregon Department of Parking and Transportation invites applications for a full-time Office Specialist 1.
The Department of Parking and Transportation Services provides parking options and promotes transportation alternatives for faculty, staff, students and visitors at the University of Oregon. The department is responsible for managing and maintaining approximately 4000 spaces with over 50 surface lots and one parking garage. The department's mission is to provide equitable and quality services within the scope of available resources.
This is a classified position represented by SEIU local 503, Oregon Public Employees Union.

### TO QUALIFY YOU MUST HAVE:
one year of general clerical experience which included typing, word processing, or other generation of documents; OR
completion of courses or training in Office Technology; OR
an equivalent combination of training and experience.

### DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
This position provides clerical, records maintenance, and accounts receivable support for the parking program. Duties include:
greeting customers and answering the telephone, answering questions regarding the parking program and services; providing leadership and instruction to student workers who perform reception functions; explaining rules, processes, and procedures; performing cashiering and permit sales when office is busy; opening and closing office as scheduled.
arranging and coordinating event parking for requests received from UO affiliated individuals and departments; working with UO affiliated individuals, including individuals with limited mobility, and UO departments to establish and maintain reserved parking spaces.
providing information to individuals with parking-related billing questions; gathering information from electronic records and internal documents; determining appropriate action based on departmental policies to resolve problems with citation billings, payments, or charges, and citation and permit deposits, credits, and refunds.
adding, deleting, or adjusting information to maintain accurate, complete, and current data in parking software; requesting account billing adjustments to correct accounting errors, exercising judgment in determining actions necessary to obtain missing information or to correct information; contacting students, faculty, staff, other agencies, or the general public via phone, e-mail, or letter to obtain information to complete processing of documents; completing requests and document charges for construction and visitor parking requests.
processing journal vouchers and invoices for special event parking, construction parking permits, and visitor parking permits; processing journal vouchers for departmental reserved spaces and other journal vouchers; communicating with Office Manager about outstanding invoices.
coordinate monthly charges and payroll billing for faculty/staff permit purchases with UO payroll department; preparing excel reports from parking software, and e-mail UO payroll department with monthly updates; assisting with all payroll-associated questions; running monthly reports from parking software of all student parking permits purchased and charged to student billing; formatting reports and uploading information into Banner Information System; assisting with all student billing-associated questions.
scheduling fingerprinting appointments; processing fingerprints for scheduled and walk-in appointments; maintaining and updating office forms; maintaining and ordering office supplies; updating parking website; counting and recording money from parking payment stations; communicating via 2-way radio with Parking Services Representatives concerning parking issues; resolving parking-related questions by researching citation, owner, and vehicle information; assisting with the decision to ticket, tow, or boot a vehicle; logging all correspondence on radio log.
### WORKING CONDITIONS:
Position requires the ability to leave the indoor environment occasionally and travel across campus to process requests. Requires ability to communicate via 2-way radio.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
